It is the duty of product and service providers under the CPC Act to:
Be responsive to the Council’s redress measures and resolutions (i.e to provide relief compensation, etc to consumers when necessary).
Alert consumers on any unforeseen hazards arising from the use of their products and services.
Ensure compliance of products and services with standards, regulations and guidelines issued by appropriate regulatory authorities.
Willfully subject products and services to the Council’s scrutiny (quality analysis and/or tests).
Wilfully allow CPC inspection officers access to their premises for the purpose of conducting investigations, etc.
Sign written undertakings (when necessary) to desist from any course or conducts detrimental to the interest of consumers.
When necessary, withdraw hazardous and substandard products and services from the market and replace same with safer ones.
